Thanks for your comment and link to the blog article on my question in Flickr discussion. It was indeed very helpful to see the effect of all of these softwares on one image. I really liked the effect of Topaz DeNoise nd will try it on my images now.

Good news for ageism. I too, am a mature model at grand age of 58!! Americans seem to love my look, the UK market is much slower to catch on to a fine vintage....

Next time you are in the area, walk east towards the Potomac down King Street. Once you cross Washington (about 10 blocks from the King St. Metro), things get very interesting: colonial architecture, lots of people, and really cool scenes on the wharf.

I noticed that you mentioned a gentleman named Werner Ritter, and bells went off in my mind. I was stationed at Dolan Barracks from 1953 through 1957, Service Battery, 291st field artillary. I spent many hours at the service club, being put down by mr Ritter. I do not believe I ever took a decent picture in his eyes, however, today I occasionaly take one, and I owe it to him.

I get that a lot about the 'head on a stick'... but she doesn't complain at all.

The 32" umbrella was finally damaged beyond use, fell over one too many times. I have replaced it with a 45" one. The 32" is a better size though, in tight quarters the 45"er is cumbersome and an even bigger 'sail' outside. As i already have the softbox, which I like a lot, I will replace the 45" with a 32" soon.

There is something eerie about that model head on a stick. I'm building up a similar kit for a "portable" studio. How do you like the 32" umbrella? Right now I have the 45" with a Canon 580ex II. I am trying to decide for the next stand if I should get a smaller umbrella or a softbox.
